Welcome to the seventh post in the “Cheers!” Series!
Those of you that have popped by my site before will know that I am a tiny bit obsessed with rhyming. “Cheers!” is a series of rhyming guest posts that I am honoured to share, mostly with a parenting theme, from some of the most talented and lovely people in Blogland!
This week I bring you the lovely Heather from Tipsy Tiaras, who has been very generous and shared with us not one, but two brilliant rhymes. If you haven’t checked out her blog already please do. You will find hilarious and moving posts, along with those that leave you reaching for a Kleenex. You can also find more of her rhyming genius in her fabulous Rhyme Time section.
Over to Heather…
****************
I woke this morning to the sound of little feet
Opened my eyes to a face so sweet.
Big blue eyes, messed up red hair
A vision of perfection – I could only stare….
He leaned in softly, touched my arm and said,
“I peed all over the floor, get out of bed.”
Ahh, Aidan. You’re now thirteen,
That little boy can still be seen,
He’s in your smile, your eyes, my heart,
My baby boy now plays a young man’s part.
It’s awesome, sad, amazing to see,…
Even tho it means you’re growing away from me.
It’s as it should be, this is life’s plan,
So I’ll open my heart and embrace the young man.
Heather LeRoss is the mom to two smelly but sweet boys. She spends her days spinning in circles of crazy wearing a tiara, gripping a glass of champagne. She’s a lover of fine boxed wine and chocolate.
Follow the funny and heart feels on www.tipsytiaras.com and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/tipsytiaras.
She hopes to someday be known as “Heather” again and not “those boys’ mom.”

Proudly linking up with…
Ha ha I love the contrast between the two poems! I’m already dreading my boys becoming teenagers because they’re my babies!! But I’ll no doubt embrace it just like it says here 🙂 another great post in the Cheers series 🙂
Thank you for reading Becky 🙂 x
From laughing to almost crying in a mere moment; the effect of your poetry is symbolic of parenthood itself! Sometimes I wish my girls could stay babies forever (and they’re two, so I’m already in denial of the fact that they’re not babies anymore!), and I have to tell myself the same thing: embrace it. It’s going to happen whether I like it or not!
Thanks for sharing; I’ll be following 🙂
The switch is tremendous isn’t it? Thank you so much for reading x
Haha I peed on the floor- standard life of mum. Love the one funny one reminiscent poem, worked really well. Go heather! And also enjoying the Cheers series 🙂 #dreamteam
They’re fab aren’t they? Thank you so much for reading and commenting lovely 🙂 x
What gorgeous poems! This is my future, eeeep. Time goes so very fast. Love how you capture the hilarity and poignancy of parenthood in your rhymes, Heather. This Cheers series is fabulous Dawn! #DreamTeam
I know I’m biased but I love this series too! ? I love reading other bloggers’ rhymes! These two are just great aren’t they? Thanks so much lovely xx

There’s just no other alarm clock like it is there? Thanks for reading hon x
I love how this suddenly flips to the older boy a great reflection of how time flies… #BigPinkLink
It’s really moving isn’t it? Thank you Catie xx
Oh, they are both fabulous!! Humorous, but really touching too. They capture parenthood exactly as it is-how you can be gazing at your child in wonder one minute, only for them to make an unpleasant announcement the next, to everything being crazy when they’re tiny, to missing this utter craziness as they get older… Really, really fabulous poems!! Thanks for sharing, ladies!!
#bigpinklink
Thank you for such a lovely comment hon. I totally agree with you, the two rhymes really contrast and work well together don’t they? Thank you for having us at #bigpinklink xx
Love both poems. But I wanted more, which is a great sign. Love the idea of cheers. Sharing your poetic love. But like a wine tasting session :0)

I like the way she is embracing her son growing up. We can’t stop time and so it’s good to enjoy each stage for what it is – which the two poems illustrate perfectly! Alison x #ablogginggoodtime
I get do emotional when I think about my two growing up, but you’re right! We need to embrace it and enjoy it. Thanks for reading Alison x
What a lovely rhyme one minute I was smiling the next I felt so forlorn at the idea my babies will one day grow and I will have to let them go!! A beautiful post xx (ps I wasn’t from a linkup just saw your tweet and swung by)
