Disney on Ice is Coming to Sheffield!

When You Wish Upon A Star…

I spent many of my pre-mummy years living in Sheffield.  Every year the countdown to Christmas was officially kicked off as the city welcomed the Disney on Ice spectacular event. I’ve always been such a huge Disney fan.  Even though I didn’t have littles of my own back then, my heart would squeak as I’d watch my friends’ children get so excited waiting for the show.  For a few days each year, Sheffield would be sprinkled with giddy children dressed in sparkly princess dresses and heroic costumes of their Disney heroes.  I’d see parents clutching little hands and grinning as their tiny Elsas and Simbas skipped along, heading to take their seats for the magical event.

This year, I am very excited to say that our two littles will be there too!  Disney on Ice has very kindly invited us along, and so I will be travelling back to Sheffield next weekend for what promises to be an amazing show!

Passport to Adventure

This year Disney On Ice presents “Passport to Adventure” and a “journey to the most memorable Disney destinations”.  All of our favourite characters will be ready to bring the magic.  Simba, Timon and Pumbaa will be welcoming us to the African Pride Lands and we’ll be exploring Ariel’s underwater kingdom.  We’re also promised a tour of London with Peter Pan and Wendy before we fly to Neverland to meet Tinkerbell! Not forgetting all of our favourite Frozen characters of course.  Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf will be there adding their sparkle to the icy spectacular too.  All the Disney action will be showcased by world-class skaters, adding even more magic and wide-eyed wonder.

“It’s an extraordinary show and a family vacation all rolled into one incredible night,” says Producer Kenneth Feld. “You really get a sense you are travelling right alongside Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends.”

Our two have never experienced anything like this before. They are now 5 & 3 so I think that this is the perfect year for them to get in on the action. I can’t wait to see their faces as they’re enchanted by the dazzling show and brilliant music.

To say that we’re a bit excited is an understatement.   I’m not entirely sure which of us is the most giddy? Let’s just say that if you happen to see our little family in Sheffield next week, it won’t just be the little Elsa and tiny Simba that are skipping…

  1. Is 3 the earliest you would take them? I’ve been debating when the best time to start going to these things would be, but I’m not sure when it’s worth it. He’s only 18 months now, so I still think it’s probably early. #dreamteam

    1. I know friends who have taken their children younger than 3, but I know that our littlest isn’t the greatest at sitting so I haven’t tried it before now. I’ll let you know how we get on at the weekend and I’ll look out for other littles for you Stephanie x
