Tom’s Storytime – Are You Ready For An Adventure?

Tom’s Storytime – an interactive story site for little readers and listeners:

Are you sitting comfortably?  Then I shall begin!  If your little ones are anything like mine they will be all about the stories. Nothing makes their eyes sparkle quite so much as the promise of a new story, and the chance to go on an adventure with me through the pages. Allow me to proudly introduce you to Tom’s Storytime:

Tom’s Storytime is a brand new Children’s Story experience which launches as I publish this post today!  The site will share brilliantly written and original stories to suit children of all ages.  Tom’s Storytime is broken into three areas so there is something to suit everyone.  Sprites (age 0-6), Adventurers (3-8) and Interactive (all ages).

Each story is shared as an engaging video and opens to a story-teller sitting in the story chair and welcoming you to a new adventure. The background shows which group the story fits with too so that you can see at a glance that it will be suitable for your little one.  The Interactive videos will encourage children to get involved as they copy the story-teller and join in.

We have been lucky enough to have had a sneak preview of the first four stories that Tom will be featuring.  Two of these will be published today and available to watch, with the next two on their way over the next few days.

Bug Hunt:

Bug Hunt (Sprites) was an instant winner for my two as they are both huge fans of the creepy crawlies.  The storyteller is enchanting and she really held their attention. They listened and watched the images as the story unfolded on the screen.  Mstr Tot enjoyed pointing out all of his favourite beasties and they were both excited to follow along.

Davey Chicken:

The second story is Davey Chicken and one for the Adventurers – so for slightly older children.  Although my two are 2.5 and 4.5 and both thoroughly enjoyed reading it with me.

Davey is a mischievous chicken who gets himself into all kinds of scrapes, and I have to say that I could totally relate to Mum and Dad in this one!  Davey is a bit of a rascal, and as a parent I love the life lesson behind this story.  Tom tells me that this one is his own daughter’s favourite and I can see why.

… And so much more:

Tom’s Storytime will continue to share more stories, along with an interactive website for little hands.  Tiny explorers will be able to touch to make the screen light up or creatures jump out and hide.  There will also be the option to buy the books that have been read if your little listener takes a shine to them. (Which I’m sure that they will!)

We have already had a peek at the next two stories, and I won’t give anything away, but I can promise that they are both brilliant in very different ways.  Tom has a way of capturing emotions in his books in a way that children can really relate to.  He strikes a perfect balance between entertaining posts that include all of our little ones’ favourite characters, and more heartfelt posts that explore feelings and imagination.

We will definitely be adding Tom’s site to our favourites as both of my two have enjoyed watching and reading the first of his stories. In fact they are now the first request when I ask which story they would like to hear.  They’ve definitely made an impression with my two adventure seekers.  We can’t wait to see what else Tom has to share with us!
