Welcome to the 9th post in the “Cheers!” Series!
Those of you that have popped by my site before will know that I am a tiny bit obsessed with rhyming. “Cheers!” is a series of rhyming guest posts that I am honoured to share, mostly with a parenting theme, from some of the most talented and lovely people in Blogland!
This week’s guest needs no introduction… I am rolling out the red carpet and very very excited to give to you my amazing bloggy buddy: The Mama from My Kid Doesn’t Poop Rainbows. I have always known her to be hilarious, and beyond talented with a set of pencils, but then she went and wrote a poem!! What can I say? Loved it! If you haven’t read her posts already then please check her out. She writes and sketches brilliant posts such as: How to Avoid Throttling your Child which you simply have to read if you haven’t already (and if you have – read it again!)
But for now: Over to The Mama…
As the end of my time draws near,
I’m feeling excitement and fear.
Our time in Thailand is near up,
Phew, as I’ve smashed all our cups.
Soon we will move to sunny Spain,
And say bye to all that Thai rain.
Bye bye humidity, bye heat.
Adios to yummy food to eat.
So long to paradise beaches,
Farewell to five pounds each peaches.
Adieu to the land of smiles,
Cheerio curries which gave me piles.
Five years ago I came all alone,
With near no contacts on my phone.
Now I leave with two more in tow,
With lots of tears and sighs, off we go.
Bangkok will always have my heart,
It’s here that saw my family start.
One day we’ll be back I’m almost sure,
But Spain will leave us rather poor.
Meanwhile when I need a wee lift,
I know to where my thoughts will drift.
Bangkok, city of heat food and fun,
Lesser known for giving you the runs.
Thank you Poop Rainbows Mama. It’s an honour to co-host your linky with you, and to share your awesome rhyme. Wishing you every happiness in your new home in Spainland, and I’m looking forward to many more 6am “Facebook bombs” from you in the future 😉
